Jemuh can serve as a beautifully shaped laundry basket in your bathroom or as a storage place for cushions and blankets in your living room. It is a stable, non-deformable rattan basket – the material is so robust that even heavy firewood can be stored and transported in this basket.

The rattan used is processed untreated. The result is a pleasantly light shade that blends harmoniously into any living environment. Jemuh is available in two sizes (high and narrow or low and wide).

Main material: Rattan

Our baskets are made from plant fibers. They therefore wonderfully smell and feel like nature.

Rattan palms tend to grow in large numbers in dense forests, where they are considered invasive plants, taking up space from other plants and drawing many nutrients from the soil. The stems, which grow quickly without any chemical additives, have to be cut off regularly and can then be used as material for furniture and baskets after the drying process. This makes rattan an extremely sustainable material that is available in abundance.

This basket is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we value fair pay and good working conditions. In the factories from which we purchase our goods, we only work with adult and experienced artisans. No harmful chemicals are used in the manufacturing process. Since all work steps are done by hand, the production process hardly generates any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all of this through regular on-site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
